The Queensland branch of The Australian Hovercraft Federation held a planning meeting on Tuesday,
20th June 2017, at the Coopers Plains Library in Orange Grove Road.

Cruise report - Muriel St, Redland Bay - Sunday 18th June 2017.
The last club cruise was held on Sunday 18th June 2017, launching from 96 Muriel Street, Redland Bay
courtesy of Peter and Elaine Venn, cruising from Redland Bay Passage to Jumpinpin and Jacobs Well.
Those attending the cruise with craft were:-
James King in a Viper 5XC, Karl Bowman in a Viper 4X, Angus and Lucas Kerr in a Viper 4 Cruiser, Ben and Calum Woodhead in the Turbo XP 960, Les Taylor in a Turbo 235 Superwedge "Phoenix", Peter Venn and lan Lind in the Turbo TP6, Dieter Renisch and Jean Smith in a Turbo Wedge 225 "Places to Go" and Michael Stephenson with Steven Odgaard in the Turbo Wedge 240 "Baffle", set off on the morning cruise at 10:20 am and ventured south and east to the Bedrooms near Jumpinpin Bar. Dieter and Jean ran out of fuel near the western entrance to Duck Creek and near Short Island and after transferring fuel from Peter Venn decided to head back the way they came via Cobby Cobby Island and Russell Island.

Michael and Steven kept going and caught up with Angus, Lucas, Ben, Calum, Les, James and Karl on South Stradbroke Island. They set off south then rounded Kangaroo Island and headed west to Jacobs Well then north past Rudy Maas, Steiglitz and Cabbage Tree Point to return to Muriel Street by 11:30am. Michael Stephenson and Steven Odgaard fell behind and ventured too far south. They stretched their legs at Tipplers then returned to base via Jacobs Well. At Dinner Island they surfed on the wake of a large motor launch for about 1 kilometre until the 6 knot zone.

James King and Karl Bowman set off again after lunch at 12:45 pm followed by Angus Kerr and Les Taylor. Dieter had a bit of trouble with the Robin in the Turbo Wedge 225. Peter took the small Hoverjet for a spin and Peter Venn and lan Lind were the last ones in for the evening with lan receiving some training north of Ivan's Haven and Lagoon Island in the Expo Turbo Wedge 240 at 3:45pm.

Angus said he and Ann are now officially known as trailer trash and camped overnight in their Toyota Coaster. lan Lind paid his club membership for a 2nd year, Dieter Renisch returned a tax invoice with paid signed off for $350 for a club banner and James King received a cheque from Phil Audsley as reimbursement for his expenditure on "freedom of information" information. Elisha King and Dianne King recently viewed ultra sound scans of the first for a new family. Dillon and Amelia visited with their baby boy named Hunter. Narelle Woodhead brought Gowan after his morning soccer match.

Lee, Kerri and Mia Corcoran visited Elaine Venn and came to watch the hovercraft. Kim and James Allen
came for the morning and Dwayne Morgan stayed longer than anticipated. Arthur took some great video
clips at head height and up to 120 metres with his quad copter. Judy Stead, Rita Chaffey, Judy Bowman,
Dianne King and Kerri Audsley relaxed at the Elaine Venn beach house diner. The wind picked up to
13km/hr in a Southerly breeze and the rain stayed away.
10 hovercraft and a 4.5m Quintrex Safety Boat with 50hp Yamaha 31 people.

An AHF meeting to discuss the national rally was held on Wednesday 7th June 2017 at 7:00 pm at Ben
Woodhead's place and on Skype.

Ben Woodhead may open and hand over to Peter Streader for tribute to Sam Waugh. Peter Streader
will contact Rob Waugh.
Jeremy Ludlow travelling from WA in a camper van.
Slalom event team relay.
Buck offered his place as a stop over for Victorian travellers on Wednesday. Buck will bring firewood
for camping in his Buck-e-bago.
Rachel is looking forward to the female events.
Les Taylor will be scrutineering craft as they arrive on Friday.
Dwayne Morgan has prepared a management plan and risk analysis.

Australian National Rally:
The next club cruise will be the Australian National Rally to be held from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th July
2017 at Lake Coolmunda near Inglewood in southeast Queensland. This rally is being organised by the
Queensland Sporting Hovercraft Club on behalf of the Australian Hovercraft Federation.

Next Queensland branch meeting:
The next club meeting will be held on Tuesday 18th July 2017 at 7:30pm.
It will be held in the Coopers Plains Library at 107 Orange Grove Road, Coopers Plains.
There is plenty of parking at the rear of the library building via Bosworth Street off Orange Grove Road.
