Dear Air Cushion Vehicle enthusiast,
The Queensland branch of The Australian Hovercraft Federation held a planning meeting on Tuesday,
21st January 2014, in the main terminal building at Archerfield Aerodrome, via Grenier
Drive off Beatty Road, Archerfield.
This meeting was attended by:-

Other members attending were Bill Toppin, Dale Baxter and Brandon Bull.
Visitors for the evening were Kerri Audsley, Michael Stephenson and Dieter Renish.
Cruise report.
No club cruise held during January.
Club News:-
The January planning meeting was held on a very humid Tuesday evening at Archerfield, but the air
conditioned meeting room gave some comfort to the 10 attendees.
Michael Stephenson joined the club and we welcome him as an enthusiastic member.
His colleague Dieter is a boat builder and is looking for a hovercraft to buy.
Phillip presented a treasury statement and financial plan to explain our rent situation.
Unfortunately $55 is more than we can afford and we need to find a meeting room with rent less than
$38 to break even. To stay at the Archerfield terminal we would need to maintain 15 members with $78
annual subscription.
Michael Stephenson suggested an Anglican hall and a library at Coopers Plains will be available in 6 months
with a new public meeting room under construction. The Flying Souls cafe in Grenier Drive Archerfield at
$40 has been considered, but this is not air conditioned.

Next club cruise:-
The next club cruise will be held on Sunday 2nd February 2014 at Muriel St, Redland Bay.
Meet at 9:00 am at Peter Venn's place at 96 Muriel St, Redland Bay for a launch into the Redland Bay
Channel from the back terrace.
Peter and Elaine will not be home when we use their boat ramp and terrace, however they plan to catch up with us in the afternoon.

Next Queensland branch meeting:
The next club meeting will be held on Tuesday 18th February 2014 at 7:30pm.
It will be held in the main terminal building at Archerfield Aerodrome, via Grenier Drive off Beatty Road,
Archerfield.
Anyone with an interest in air cushion vehicles is welcome to attend.
We discuss technical topics and plan cruises.
