November 2009
Queensland Sporting Hovercraft Club
A branch of the AUSTRALIAN HOVERCRAFT FEDERATION Inc (Vic)

Dear Air Cushion Vehicle enthusiast,
The Queensland branch of The Australian Hovercraft Federation held a planning meeting at the Silverline Insulation office at 12 Veronica Street Capalaba, on Tuesday, 17th November 2009.
This meeting was attended by:-
Des Goss, Phillip Audsley, Angus Kerr and Steven Odgaard.

Cruise report - Riverside Drive, South Brisbane, Saturday 14rd November 2009.

The last club cruise was held on Saturday 14th November 2009 on the Brisbane River, launching from Riverside Drive in South Brisbane.
Those attending the cruise were:-

Steven Odgaard - Billy Baker 2.
Des Goss - Turbo Wedge 225.

Visitors:- John Elk.

John travelled from Gatton to the Riverside Drive boat ramp to see the craft in action first hand.
Des Goss arrived with his trusty Turbo Wedge 225 and prepared to launch. Steven arrived around 9:15 am with the Billy Baker 2 in tow. Des did a few laps of the Coronation Reach of the river then chatted with John Elk.

Steven had some fuel mixture problems with the lift engine but with some determination and persistance managed to coax the twin-engined craft around the reach and safely in behind a passing city cat ferry. We didn't travel very far but enjoyed the company of our interested visitor and the pleasant Queensland Spring weather.
Steven boiled the billy and had a cup of tea under a shady tree before setting off home.

Other News:-
Arthur and Judy Stead spent November travelling around the North and South islands of New Zealand and caught up with Peter and Sue Morgan at Wanganui on the North Island.
Peter bought a new Hov Pod a couple of years ago but has only managed to clock up 2 hours of use in that time because of constant hassles due to reliability problems with the craft.
