Dear Air Cushion Vehicle enthusiast,
The Queensland branch held a planning meeting at the Sporting Aircraft Association of Australia hall
at Archerfield Aerodrome on Tuesday, 17th March 2009 which was attended by:-
Des Goss, Phillip Audsley, Arthur Stead and Steven Odgaard.
Visitors for the evening were:- Jim & Stirling Calder and Dale Baxter.
Cruise report - Muriel Street, Redland Bay, Saturday 7th March 2009.
The last club cruise was held on Saturday 7th March 2009 from 96 Muriel Street Redland Bay
courtesy of Peter Venn. Those attending the cruise were:-
Peter Venn - Expo Turbo
Arthur Stead - Revtech Renegade
Des Goss - Turbo Wedge 225
Steven Odgaard with no craft.
Jim Calder - visitor.
Jim Calder visited for his first cruise meeting and enjoyed a quick ride on Lagoon Passage
courtesy of Peter Venn and his recent acquisition, the Expo Turbo which Eddie de Young decided
no longer suited his needs. Eddie was our visitor at the cruise last month and he only owned this
craft for less than a month.
Arthur Stead in a Revtech Renegade, Des Goss in a Turbo Wedge 225 and Peter Venn and Steven
Odgaard in the Expo Turbo travelled out through Lagoon Passage to the Logan River, then
continued on around the southern end of Russell Island and into Canaipa Passage. We landed on
a narrow sandy beach north of Koureyabba and had a chat with a few fellow boating enthusiasts.
Steven climbed the sand dune for a scenic view westward over the Redland Bay Islands
We enjoyed fine weather and mild breezes on this occasion and all returned to port without
mishap or breakdown.

On our return, Elaine provided lots of great food and pots of tea while we exchanged stories
about our hovercraft adventures as usual.
Other News:-
Peter Venn has been continuing his weed removal contract on Wivenhoe Dam for the Water
Resources Commission over the past month, but a keen canoeist has under-quoted his contract
for weed removal of the sixty kilometre stretch of the Brisbane River between Mt Crosby Weir and
Wivenhoe. It will be interesting to see how long a canoe can cope with the many hectares of
rapidly increasing weed infestation which an ACV can cover in a short time.
Peter still has plenty of work for the Turbo TP6 and now has a reliable Expo Turbo as a back-up craft.
