Dear Air Cushion Vehicle enthusiast, A visitor to the meeting was Arthur Gangell from Springfield Lakes. Apologies:- Apologies from Des Goss who is overseas. Cruise report - Logan River, Eagleby - Sunday 13th May 2007. The last cruise was held on Sunday 13th May 2007 on the Logan and Albert rivers from Eagleby to Yatala with 3 hovercraft in attendance:-
Angus Kerr - in his Turbo Wedge 240, Arthur Gangell from Springfield Lakes and his sister Irene visiting from Adelaide came along at 9:00 am on Sunday morning to see the craft in action. Angus took Irene for a ride and Steven took Arthur for a slow stumbling ride in the Billy Baker. Arthur and Irene then drove by car to the Yatala bridge and waited for over an hour while the three craft journeyed down the Logan River to the junction, then up the Albert River via the Stapylton flood plain. Angus was able to power his craft all the way up the steep bank near the bridge and came to rest on the grassy strip near the edge of the service road, while Steven managed to perch the Billy Baker onto a mud shelf enabling him to step out onto dry ground. Peter and Ann played it safe and stayed under the bridge while the others chatted, then refuelled for the return trip to Eagleby. Safely back at the Eagleby boat ramp we all enjoyed some of Peter and Ann's chocolate cake washed down by a billy tea.
