Dear Air Cushion Vehicle enthusiast,
The Queensland branch held a planning meeting at the Sporting Aircraft Association of Australia
hall at Archerfield Aerodrome on Monday, 15th May 2006, which was attended by Des Goss, Phillip
Audsley, Arthur Stead and Steven Odgaard.
Cruise report - Oyster Point near Cleveland - Sunday 30th April 2006.
The last cruise was at Oyster Point near Cleveland on Sunday 30th April 2006.
It was attended by:-
Angus Kerr in a Revtech Rocket,
Peter Ledwoch & Ann Dickinson in a Simple Cyclone, and
Phillip Audsley in a Turbo Wedge 225.
Tony Podlich with family, Ray and Denise Newton and Steven Odgaard came along to watch.
There was a 10 knot north easterly breeze for most of the day which gradually strengthened to
15 knots, but this did not impede the cruise to Eprapah Creek and Coochiemudlo Island.
Angus was paid a visit by 3 of his friends from the Motor Raceway and being professional high
speed thrill seekers, Angus did his best to give them an amphibious ride to remember. I believe all
were thrilled to beyond their expections.
Peter and Ann travelled from the Gold Coast and it was great to see their Simple Cyclone
performing so well.
Unfortunately Des Goss couldn’t be with us because his Turbo Wedge was damaged a week
earlier on a cruise with Angus at Fisherman Island near the mouth of the Brisbane River. The
mishap occurred back at the ramp while loading the craft onto the trailer. The rear duct fastenings
tore loose with too much force from an assistant pushing the craft - with good intentions.
Hope to see you back in the circle of regular cruisers before too long Des.
I have some photos of the cruise at Oyster Point to show at the meeting.
Arthur Stead reported that the Queensland branch web site is now available for viewing. It is
kindly sponsored by Silverline Ceiling Insulation by Peter Venn.
