Camp Quality report - Point Wolstoncroft - Sunday 13th March 2005.
Dear Air Cushion Vehicle enthusiast,
On the weekend of 12/13th March 2005, Arthur and Judy Stead and Steven Odgaard travelled to
Lake Macquarie near Newcastle NSW and met our friends from the NSW branch:-
Karl & Judy Bowman, Eugene & Robin Zanozine, and Peter Hardi and Sharon.
Karl and Eugene both had Revtech Renegades powered by 24hp 4 stroke Honda engines, Peter
Hardi had a Viper powered by a fuel injected 2 stroke Hearth engine and Steven Odgaard had
a Bill Baker 2 powered by a 44hp Chapparal and an EC25 Robin lift engine, both 2 strokes.
The excuse for travelling this far was Camp Quality for Children with cancer at Point Wolstoncroft.
However a good social event with the NSW club was also a bonus.
On the homeward leg of the trip, Neil Batley of Taree kindly offered me a place to stay to
rest my weary bones. Thanks Neil.
On the Monday, I visited Stephen and Lee McIver at Bonville. Their son Bryce is building a 10 foot
aluminium craft as part of a final year project at Secondary School.
The craft is integrated and is powered by a 30hp 3 cylinder Suzuki car engine.
