Cruise report - Christmas barbecue at Wellington Point - Saturday, 7^th December 2002.

Dear Air Cushion Vehicle enthusiast,

Our afternoon Christmas barbecue was held at Wellington Point on Saturday, 7^th December.

In attendance were Angus Kerr and his son Lucas, Peter Venn, Arthur Stead, Phillip and Kerri Audsley, Terry and Marni Arnott and their two children and Steven Odgaard.

Angus arrived with Lucas in his Turbo Wedge 240 at 2:00 pm.
Peter Venn brought along the hoverjet.

Phillip unfortunately had a flat battery due to worn insulation on the main cables. I got the blame for this, as I used his craft at South Stradbroke Island last month for the day with Angus Kerr and the Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club.

Angus with his keen sight, spotted a wind surfer swimming back towards the spit trying to drag his board sail and broken mast. He was very grateful, when Angus went out and carried him and his heavy equipment back to dry land.

World Hovercraft Championship - 2002:-
Angus Kerr and Arthur Stead will be travelling to Woollongong next weekend to collect Angus's RevTech Rocket hovercraft which is almost back in port after the seafreight journey back across the Pacific. The container with all the precious hovercraft cargo will be unpacked at Sam Waugh's factory.

The Great South East:-
Angus Kerr, Arthur Stead, Peter Venn and David Legg will be filming for about 3 hours with Channel 7 at 11:00 am on Wednesday, 11^th December 2002 at the boatramp at Fisherman's Island near the mouth of the Brisbane River. They will have a Mustang Hovercraft, a Turbo 240 and a hoverjet to do a feature for the Great South East.
Any member of the Australian Hovercraft Federation is welcome to join them at 11:00 am.

Next Queensland branch meeting:-
The first club meeting for 2003 is scheduled for
7:30pm - Tuesday, 21^st January 2003.
